CatchBugs.com is an interactive audio game developed to help children memorize word lists and spell some of the most commonly used words in writing. These words are commonly known as sight words, Dolch sight word list, Dolch words, Fry sight words, or high-frequency words. These word lists make up more than 200 of the most commonly used words. Some studies indicate that these words will make up 50 to 75 percent of all words found in schoolbooks, library books, newspapers, and magazines. Because many of these words are "service words" (pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs), they cannot be learned through the use of pictures.
